How to combine golfing and diving in paradise

The world of the Pharoahs can no longer claim to be the only attraction in this facinating country. The European customers now come in search of new ‘treasures’ in the form of golf and diving holidays. It must be the combination of the beautiful hot weather and its position close to the sea.

You can choose to stay on the Mediterranean coast, although most of the resorts are based on the Red Sea Riviera. Sidi Abdel Rahman, on the north coast, is a popular destination offering stunning white sandy beaches and crystal clear sea water. However, if you are looking for Egypt holidays near to golf courses and diving centres, you have to head to the Red Sea Riviera.

Lots of resorts along this strip of coastline including Hurghada and Sharm-El-Sheik have developed rapidly over the last 10 years. Less than 20 years earlier, most were desert areas which have since swallowed up land creating a booming industry.

Egypt hotels High quality hotels have shot up from sandy foundations, and contrast sharply with the timeless elegance of the Pyramids. Continuing the theme of golf and history in perfect harmony, is the resort of Luxor. Close to the airport is the Royal Valley Golf club, which offers first class golfing facilities, designed by architect Arthur Davis. It’s just a short hop to the temple of Karnak and Luxor, some of the most impressive treasures that Egypt has to offer.

If you want sun, sand and swing then you have to experience the delights of Hurghada. Hurghada hotels boast some of the best hospitality around the whole of the Red Sea Riviera, a fact reflected in the massive growth of visitors over a short period of time. It is a diver’s and a snorkeller’s dream – an underwater kaliedoscope of colour!
