Quiz some children (and big kids) about where they would love to travel to on holiday instead of anywhere in the world, and I would guarantee that the most common response will always be the same – Disneyworld in Florida. No matter if you’re talking to a small child or a teenager, the famous destination and it’s flagship theme parks have been a firm choice for many seasons. The Disney excitement that we’ve all seen on the television in cartoons has its unique own location in the extreme tip of America, and you can be sure that’s one of the few long haul journeys kids won’t moan about!
Unfortunately, the price of travel to the USA is obstructive for a lot of families – a return flight to Florida airports might balloon into many thousand pounds for a an average family, so school school yard talk regarding a summer trip to the Sunshine State might be faced with awe and daydreaming.
The overnight options are huge in the holiday heat, ranging from cheap and flexible fly-drive options where you might order coupons to pay as you stay in travelodge style accomodation, spanning all the way up to the premium collection of hotels within the DisneyWorld Complex, which can be priced as much, if not more than your flights.
There is as always a reasonable arguement that this is an experience of a lifetime – so it may be worth spending some time to give some very real thought as to if it is wise to spend some more and get the full Disney World treatment. Whilst the food cost is not as cheap over there as it once was, it’s nonetheless very low compared to British equivelants. Commonly UK holidaymakers will eat out each evening – the junk food outlets are nearly everywhere in tourist areas – and on key streets, every 50 meters.
It’s certainly obvious to write that most mums and dads would do anything to be given a chance to take their children to Disney – it is a type of travel rite of passage with it’s famous Mission to Mars ride, so if the only thing thats preventing you from whisking your family away is cold hard cash, then maybe it’s time to try something else and you’ll be lucky on a holiday prize draw – there’s plenty out on the net!
