@miniiceman1212 Try Silverlake and Echo Park – both are nice, safeish, hip areas with an awesome local music scene. Yeah, it’s not cheap…but LA isn’t overall. Just look for some room mates to share the costs until you get yourself settled in. Venice beach and the Culver city area might also be worth checking out. Santa Monica is way too pricey. If you don’t mind not being in the heart of LA, but still want the feel I would go with Long Beach, which has its own unique character.

A once proud and clean city, Los Angeles is today for the mosty part a complete dump. Dont waste your time here. Venice Beach is wrought with crime and gangsters. Downtown is a filthy row of swap meets and cheap Chinese toy stores. There are diseased and mentally ill homeless people sleeping everywhere and when they are awake they bother you for money. Surrounding area resembles Mexico more than any other place on earth. Its a disgrace.

Where you may see a psycho garbage covered bum shitting, pissing, vomiting or masturbating on most streets in Venice Beach, Hollywood and Downtown! If you are an illegal alien, LA allows you to piss anywhere and throw your garbage anywhere you want! VISIT LA!!
I get a kick out of tourists thay think Hollywood Blvd. is some sort of golden paved avenue of the stars. NO, YOU WILL NOT SEE ANY FAMOUS PEOPLE. YES, you will be ripped off a dozen ways in Hollywood. NEVER trust a “hollywood tour bus”. YES, you will smell urine all day long in Hollywood. YES, you will be incredibly overcharged for everything. Universal City is a total rip off. DONT COME TO LA! The mayor doesnt take care of the city, and wont take care of your safety!!
